Adopt a Pet Today

OPEN FOR REGULAR PUBLIC ACCESS

The Irving Animal Care Campus (IACC) is now open to regular public access. Following Irving Animal Services (IAS) hours of operation, the IACC doors will be open from 1 pm to 6 pm Tuesday through Saturday. During those hours, visitors will no longer be required to call upon arrival.

DFW Humane Society (DFWHS) hours of operation will remain 12 pm to 6 pm Tuesday through Friday and 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday. Because our hours vary from IAS, visitors to DFWHS arriving between 12 pm and 1 pm Tuesday through Friday and between 10 am and 1 pm on Saturday will need to call 972-721-7788, and a staff member or volunteer will open the door.

DFW Humane Society aims to make our adoption process a positive and open experience for all of our potential adopters. We also strive to ensure that our pets go to loving, lifelong homes.  In most cases, you can take the pet home with you the same day!

To complete the adoption process. you will need to meet certain requirements.

  1. You must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. You will need to bring a government-issued photo ID showing your current address. If the address on your government-issued photo ID is outdated, you must provide a copy of a recent bill, such as a utility or phone bill, or a copy of a lease or insurance with your current address.

When you have found your perfect pet and spent some time with them here at the shelter, you will complete an adoption application for review by an adoption counselor.
